Pulsed Light Hair Reduction/Laser Hair Removal

How does it work?

The Palomar hair removal hand pieces emit pulses of light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair. This option for hair removal is fast and convenient. Treatment times of small areas last around 30 minutes and larger areas can last around 1 hour. Unlike waxing the pulsed light is much more convenient for the patient.

What body areas can be treated?

Areas around the eyes cannot be treated. The upper lip, face, neck, underarms, bikini line, legs, chest and back can all be treated.

What should I expect after treatment?

The treated hair will continue to appear for 7-30 days post-treatment. This is not new growth, but treated hairs being expelled from the skin. Typically several treatments will be necessary to achieve permanent hair reduction. Standard is 3-6 treatments. Patients typically schedule these appointments every 4-6 weeks.

Fractional Resurfacing

Laser scar treatment is appropriate for surgical scars, acne scars, and stretch marks on any area of the body including the face. Laser scar treatment also works on any skin type including very light and very dark skin. Patients are provided numbing cream with all treatments.
